Authorities this morning found a woman's body floating in Huntington Harbour. The Orange County Sheriff's Department was initially investigating a "a large pool of blood" in front of Turc's bar in Sunset Beach at 2:09 a.m., said department spokesman Jim Amormino.

Amormino said sheriff's deputies discovered the unidentified body in the water about two hours later. He said the woman's car was found in a parking lot where boat owners keep their vehicles. Lt. Craig Bryant of the Huntington Beach Police Department, which took over the investigation, said he had little information on the incident but that detectives and coroner's officials this morning were trying to determine how the woman died.
