Ktla_newsHere are some of the stories that KTLA News is working on this evening:

SHARK SIGHTINGS: This may be the year of the Ox, but in Southern California, it's shaping up as the year of the shark.  Local  sightings have increased sharply since January, particularly in shallow waters. A growing sea lion population and spawning grunion could be to blame, experts say.

HIP-HOP HOME INVASION: In what looks like a hip-hop rivalry turned violent, five armed men allegedly employed by one rap producer broke into another rap producer's home early Wednesday morning and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in recording gear, jewelry and a safe, authorities said. The break-in at the home-recording studio on Wyandotte Street, near Bumet Avenue, in Van Nuys occurred about 2:30 a.m.
