Octuplets' mother will talk to NBC's Ann Curry
The mother of octuplets born last week in Bellflower will give her first interview to NBC News correspondent Ann Curry, the mother's publicist said.
It will take place at an undisclosed time at an undisclosed location. Michael Furtney, the publicist for Nadya Suleman said he could not discuss whether she was being paid. "That’s between her and NBC."
NBC officials confirmed that Curry is doing the interview and said the network is not paying Suleman.
Suleman was released from the hospital early this morning, according to hospital officials.
Nadya Suleman lives in Whittier, but it was unclear where she planned to go. Her babies remain in the hospital but are listed in good condition.
Suleman made world headlines when she gave birth to the eight babies, only the second time octuplets were born in U.S. history. Suleman lives in Whittier with her father and already has six young children.

Updated at 4:40 p.m.: Furtney, Suleman's publicist, said he misspoke earlier when he said any payment was between his client and NBC. "There is no payment by NBC for any story .... And certainly to to Nadya."

Vote with your wallets. Don't watch! Let them see how low the ratings can be for this farce passing as news. That's the only thing NBC will understand.

NBC not paying this irresponsible, selfish nitwit?? Yeah, right. Maybe they are not paying this idiot in legal tender but they are compensating her somehow. All they care about is ratings!

Please don't validate this woman's quest for stardom with more press, NBC. I won't be watching this and I know several other people who are also refusing to watch it.

You think Ann Curry is a bad choice? Try the soft voice twins: Baba or Diane. I think this should go to Letterman. After his McCain and Gov.Blago sit-downs, this would be a real reason to stay-up-late.

So the publicist won't say whether she's being paid or not. Well of course she is, the story came out days ago that the mom was looking to cash in on her story and the kids. With that many to clothe and feed not to mention the medical bills she's going to need every dollar not tied down in a ten mile radius of the house.

NBC (and any other paying TV stations) is rewarding and encouraging her behavior.
Watch the copy-cat syndrome.
Watch others have multiple births and get "paid for it."

We immediately leave the hospital, and run to a interview. What about the other 6 kids, why don't you go to them first. Grandma needs a rest. Boycott NBC!!! Anybody that gives this selfish woman the time of day is NUTS. MONEY MONEY!!! Trust me this woman is not wasting her time for free. Please CPS come forward, and look at the entire situation. Any bright educated woman would not created such a mess. Anybody that supports her is crazy!!! She deserves nothing at all, for lacking COMMON SENSE. PATHETIC.

DONT WATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's the only way to show the media that we will not make this woman a millionaire. Enough with the reality shows on people that run "baby mills". The second we stop watching, buying, etc. that's the day the money will stop flowing to these people. The media only cares how much money they make on a story. Let us show them that at least for this one, they have crossed the line and we will not bring them any money.

I would like to say people won't watch but you know they will. It's human curiosity. Like many have said, even if NBC doesn'tt 'pay' her, they will certainly compensate her in another way. This nut job is out for MONEY and she's not going to give a 'free' interview. What a selfish excuse for a human being this woman is. This is an example of a professional scam artist. In this case, she has been ripping off the state (taxpayers) for years and she sees these kids as her jackpot meal ticket, just like the Gosselins and the Duggars. In these bad economic times, television is exploiting these families with multiple kids, in a way encouraging it. Well it attracted this nut and now she's looking for yet another way to sucker the taxpayersl. No wonder this country is a big fat mess!!

Why do we require people to met minimum standards for professions and certain privileges (driving, gun ownership etc) but require nothing of people who take on the most important role of all--raising another human being.

Can anyone verify the news I heard on the radio this morning proving that she has received $200k in disability from the state over the last 10 years?

Does anybody know how she got the money to pay for in-vitro? It's all just sick and somebody needs to go after the doctors for allowing it to be done. II can't believe NBC has stooped so low to do an interview with this woman. She needs to be ignored, not popularized. I only hope for the citizens of CA that she does get paid from NBC, so that you taxpayers don't have to pay her bills.

Is this one of the ten most important news stories on the planet this afternoon? Seriously...a news 'get' as a headline, and not even a very big one. Is this a trade publication or the Los Angeles Times? This is a great example of dumbdown-ification of news...

I feel that the comments on this story are hateful and mean. All of the babies are healthy and strong. So why would you want to change or cause this miracle family from existing? Most of you would have killed the unborn babies in the womb and felt fine about it. HOW SAD to feel it is okay to kill your own offspring!! WAKE UP AMERICA and quit your selfish, mean, hateful ,evil ways !!!! God does not make mistakes and he is the ONLY creator of life!

Disgusting. I agree. I'm a KP member, and will now look for a more responsible medical insurer. What were the doctors thinking? And boycott NBC and the Today Show. You're only encouraging such irresponsible behavior.

This is the height of social irresponsibility. If NBC did pay her for this interview, I hope that she reimburses the State of California for the welfare and medical costs. WHo in their right mind goes ahead had has 8 children when there are 6 children who desperately need attention at home? I am a 40 year old woman (from Whittier) who has no children and it burns me up to think that my tax dollars are going to support this moron. I hope the State fully investigates the doctor who implanted her and revoke his medical license. In fact, he should be made to pay for the support of those 8 children. She should not be given ANYTHING! She should go out and work (like everyone else) to support these children. THis is a disgrace.

They say that NBC isn't paying her for the interview..yea right! Funny how they always seem to have the hard to get int.erviews...Drew Peterson, Anthony family and attorney..now this woman!!
From an article on here the other day...it stated that this woman put in a worker's comp claim in 1999 and apparently she was able body enough to go to school and get pregnant 6 different times!! I wonder if your staff writers who wrote that story will actually follow up with more details.
If she wasn't working..then I want to know..WHO PAID FOR THIS INVITRO 6 different times????
No reporter seems to be able to answer that question..where's the investigative reporting???

Here's the part I love. Considering that California is in the middle of a budget crisis and has now withheld payments to vendors and a host of other services....imagine if she gets hardly any money or her welfare checks get delayed because of budget cuts. Only if...

I just read an AP report that the mom has received 165K for so called "on the job back injuries" from the state of california, no wonder california is BROKE = from freeloaders like her.
THE KIDS SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY AND GIVEN UP FOR ADOPTION!!!!
Posted by: mary | February 05, 2009 at 04:00 PM
I won't be watching the "interview". Why is the media glorifying this...the woman now has 14 bastard children, who will be a burden on the taxpayers. I also will boycott NBC
Posted by: Lolainlalaland | February 05, 2009 at 04:06 PM
"Does anybody know how she got the money to pay for in-vitro?"
Worker's comp. Which is, of COURSE, exactly what it's meant for. ::eyeroll::

why does everyone care so much???? first off, if she had invetro, she has money! it is not a cheap procedure and i dont know of many insurance companies that will cover it. even if she didn't do you really think 8 (or 14 since she has 6 others) kids on government assistant is going to make a dent in the millions of other kids that are on it (or rather who have parents that are on it). i wish people would get lives and stop trying to interfere with other people's.
and lets not forget... she didnt make this public. someone at the hospital told the media who have now latched on to it. everyone is criticizing her for this interview... she didn't ask for it. it was offered. so calm the f down (and btw, people not watching will not affect the money she gets paid for the interview since she would have been paid regardless of viewership).

Shame on Katie Couric and NBC for cashing in on this travesty. The losers in all of this madness and sickness, are the children. None of them will have a mother who will be able to give them the individual love and care they will need. This sick woman and the Frankenstein doctor who created this mess are despicable human beings.
This woman is a freak and makes a mockery of what it means to be a mother.

Hey, "I will not judge this woman,"
God didn't create these babies, science did. If god is the one who rendered her unable to conceive naturally, maybe he was trying to tell her something.
Posted by: Amy | February 05, 2009 at 04:29 PM
If she's been getting worker's comp for 10 years, she is no doubt also getting Social Security at $900+ a month plus a check for each kid.
She's making bank off of not only California citizens, but also anyone paying into the Social Security system.
We should all be outraged.
