Rihanna cooperating with police in assault investigations
R&B star Rihanna is cooperating with investigators building a domestic violence case against her boyfriend, the singer Chris Brown, a police source said today.
The source said the 20-year-old performer, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is providing “ongoing” cooperation with detectives who booked Brown on Sunday on suspicion of making criminal threats against her.
An early-morning altercation with Brown following a pre-Grammy Awards party left Rihanna with bruises and a scratch to her face, according to police sources. Her injuries were treated at a “major medical facility,” a police source said.
Brown, a 19-year-old with a double-platinum record and dance moves frequently compared to those of Michael Jackson, had fled before officers arrived, police said.
He remained free on $50,000 bail, but neither he nor his attorney would speak about allegations that rocked the Grammys ceremony. Both Brown and Rihanna were nominated, but neither attended the ceremony.
The fight occurred after midnight on a quiet block in Hancock Park, where Brown had stopped a rented Lamborghini he was driving. According to police, several people saw or heard a loud, violent confrontation. The luxury car was impounded because the alleged assault may have begun in the vehicle, a police source said.

We all knew when we heard about the incident that it was Rhianna! It's sad that two of the biggest music stars in Pop and R&B right now have to resort to a public physical confrontation that carried over from a party. Shame on you Chris for even putting your hands on her! Then you left her there! You don't know what is ahead of you in the L.A.criminal justice system! What a waste! I wish the best for both of them, and the truth will come out in days ahead.

Poor Chris. His life wasn't easy and I understand his step dad beat his Mom which he hated. Clearly, Chris has some very deep scars that he thought he had a handle on, but doesn't. He will need to get help so he will learn how to control his temper (if he did hit her). I'll bet Rhianna was the one who hit him first and then he flashes back to childhood, and before you know it Rhianna has a black eye and a scratch on her face. I blame both parties for letting an argument escalate to that point. Sometime it's best to just close your mouth(Rhianna). Takes two to argue. Plus, if you can't get along then you shouldn't be together in the first place.

YOUNG AND DUMB.
NOW THEY BOTH MUST PAY THE CONSEQUENCES.

I'm completely disgusted by Chris Browns actions. I hope he gets the punishment he deserves.

shame on him? like you said, the truth will come out in time, but what if its found out, that she put her hands on him first? i hope u say shame on her too, theres no more room in this world for double standards, thats the price of equality. Do onto others, as u would like others to do onto you. Shame on any one that has to resort to violence, (its usually females that like to hit first)

Unbelievable - what a man you are Chris! What an impressive man you are for getting violent with a woman.
Anyone wanna place bets as to the last time anyone (especially adults in his life) said 'no' to him?
What a little punk.

If you are a woman blaming Rhianna for what Chris Brown did to her ,then you need psychiatric help a.s.a.p. I understand that you were most likely abused by your father or an uncle that blamed you for their actions. I feel sorry for you and you should get help before you have your own kids and poison them also.
Chris Brown is a disgrace to the human race ,a little punk that deserves to lose all of his endorsements and spend a little time behind bars. Hopefully all Women around the world stop buying his music and make this the end of his career.
You don't hit women in a civilized society. Evidently you should move to a different country where this is acceptable behavior. No one here will miss you.

Chris Brown is clearly a scumbag.
Any man who hits a woman is a scumbag, regardless of their status.

Both should be ashame of theirselves. Don't matter who hit who, Both was in the wrong and at the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm ready for the truth to come out. I know Chris didn't hit her just to hit her. Something went down and we need both stories.

i do NOT believe that chris brown would do anything like this to her.... i do believe something happened but not to this extent! i think its getting blown out of proportion!!!!
Posted by: ashley | February 10, 2009 at 04:10 AM
Obviously there's a backstory to this mess... Drugs? Alcohol? A messed up childhood?
Both of them will need serious counseling after this... And if Chris Brown really beat her (it's all just rumors at this point) then he will have to "face the music", and rightly so.

I can't believe people are defending this coward. Tasha, Kay, and Ashley, if this was some regular guy off the street beating on a woman, would you imply that she did something to make him 'hit her just to hit her'. What a double standard. The fact is, she was beat down and left stranded.

My prayers are with Chris Brown im behind him 100% yall talkin down on him blaming him without knowing what happened!! what did she do to him? so just dont come out the woodworks blaming him for everything its her fault too!!!! i just hope Chris Brown learns from this situation and i hope he finds the right woman for him.Like i said i stand behind My Man 100%

"My prayers are with Chris Brown im behind him 100% yall talkin down on him blaming him without knowing what happened!" I hope you get beaten next so we can say the same thing about your attacker. Hope you DIAF slowly.
Who are these nobodies? Is she the one hit wonder that sang the old song umbrella? Wasn't that last summer? Are you all so stuck on the fake music you're sold that you can't come up with something better then her?
And him? Hope he dies. Beating a lady makes you a lady. Only men can handel themselves to the end. He isn't anything near it. He is a dog more then anything with the way he ran from his responsibilities at first.
But that is the Pop Rap Hop way right?
What a couple of douches. Pop-music douches.

Women are not equal to men. This proves it. The female sex will always back their kind, no matter what the evidence might or might not say. In the mind of the typical female, Brown has already been tried, convicted and in hopes for a public lynching that would include some form of castration. The Violence Against Women Act is one of the most sinister and destructive pieces of legislation to the fabric of American society. One that breeds and perpetuates the inequality. If the female sex truly views it's position as equal to the male sex no "special" law would be condoned. Talk about wanting your pie and eating it too. But what is new in Barbie land? Oh yeah, that's right, she turned 50!

I say this to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stop acusing one another. I am a chris brown and rhianna fan.
Hopefully rhianna wounds willl heal and she can get back on her feet
really soon. For chris i hope that he realizes what he did was wrong and
apologizes for it. I personally don't want to loose either artists in this situation.

Man all of u ppl blaming Chris Brown are full of it. You cant judge someone based on what you have heard. If you didnt see him put his hands on Rihanna then shut the hell up!!!! I absolutley love Chris Brown and I believe that if he has done any of this that has been said then he will have to face the consequences btu Rihanna is no angel, who knows maybe she just blamed him. Who knows what happened, and until we do know the facts PLEASE STOP ATTACKIN HIM U WOULDNT LIKE IT IF THE WHOLE WORLD TALKED SMACK ABOUT YOU WHEN U DIDNT EVEN DO ANYTHING! U SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF URSELFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a shame, but listen some women provoke men both verbally & physically.. so take that into consideration before you judge
Posted by: Dee | February 10, 2009 at 11:09 AM
I think this is shame, sounds like they both played a major role in this situation...but no matter what putting hands on a women is a no no... for one a guy can do alot more damage ...period, if she hit him she is very wrong too, no doubt about that!...To young and too immature to handle the stress of a relationship, this happened quite often with your relationships, there very intense and when maturity is not there things can go very wrong...hope they both work on their issues, Best of luck you both are in my prayers!

It's about time sponsors pull the plug on these spoiled role models. I will buy DoubleMint gum forever!

I believe people shouldn't judge based on what you hear on the radio, see on the news, or even read about in the paper. Reading everything that's posted here is really sad. I think chris is a nice guy and rihanna is a nice girl. They are both young and immature to be in a relationship at this age. Even if us women don't want to accept the fact that we deep inside really are more insecure when it comes to men and self image. Men whether we like it or not will always be men self centered and egotistic that by all means doesn't signify that i'm defending either of them but if in fact is really did happen we must hear both sides of the story not just because she is a woman she will take advantage of this situation and become the victim women are 97% always the victims but people are forgeting that men have rights as well. Maybe Chris could be a victim too has anyone stopped for a minute and thought about that. So why don't we all stop hatting on Chris and Rihanna and wait to listen to both I and I mean both parties involved and until they do that this will all unfold.

For all of you who are defending him - Chris Brown made arrangements through his attorney to turn himself in to be arrested on a charge that carries a max of nine years in prison. Why would an "innocent" man do that? Do you realize there was a witness too? Yes, the person who heard Rihanna's screams and called 911 and reported the fight. Add to that - Chris has no visible injuries, but Rihana does. He's guilty.
No matter who started the fight, Chris should have walked away and saved himself and his career in the process.

I am a fan of both Chris and Rihanna. I hope things will resolve itself and the both of them realizing and learned from this incident. They are both great artist. I will continue to support the both of them which ever way they choose to go.
