Second suspect arrested in Burbank homicide [updated]

Updated at 1:30 p.m.: Another man was arrested today in the fatal shooting of a 49-year-old woman at her home near Toluca Lake, authorities said. Arpiar Terrgalstanyan, 20, of Glendale was taken into custody this morning, police said. On Wednesday night,  29-year-old Burbank resident Armen Mangasaryan was arrested in connection with the case. Both men are being held without bail, Sgt. Matthew Ferguson said.

Burbank police officers have arrested a 29-year-old man in the slaying of a woman who was shot at her home near Toluca Lake, authorities said today.

Armen Mangasaryan was taken into custody Wednesday night on suspicion of fatally shooting a 49-year-old woman who answered a knock at her door about 12:30 a.m. that day, Sgt. Matthew Ferguson said. (Note: An earlier post said he was taken into custody Tuesday night.)

The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were called to the house in the 4200 block of West Jacaranda Avenue after the woman’s live-in boyfriend, who was home at the time, reported shots fired.

He was questioned but is not a suspect, Lt. Kevin Grandalski said.

Authorities would not say whether the victim knew Mangasaryan, who was being held without bail and  scheduled to be arraigned Friday at Burbank Superior Court.

The homicide, which is Burbank’s first of the year, remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (818) 238-3000.

if you don't believe that illegal immigrants (aliens) commit some serious crimes, check LAPD's most wanted, most of them are illegal and have returned to their home countries so they can't be prosecuted. a real shame!
