Disabled man found dead near Occidental College

A 40-year-old disabled man was found dead in his northeast Los Angeles home after being stabbed and beaten, police said.

A caretaker found the unidentified man dead around 2:45 p.m. Monday in the 4300 block of Toland Way, off Eagle Rock Boulevard near Occidental College, said Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Karen Smith.

Police investigators said there was evidence of a violent struggle but would not elaborate. Police said the dead man's roommate and car were missing.
