Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue vandalized

January 16, 2009 |  5:42 pm

A vandal or vandals used shaving cream to paint swastikas on the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue and shattered a window, according to authorities.

The damage was discovered by a center employee this morning. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Rosso said the vandalism was reported just after 10 a.m. and that no suspects had been identified as of this evening.

The agency's hate crimes unit is investigating the incident, he said. The Jewish Center is located in the 24800 block of Pacific Coast Highway.
