Kidnapped Riverside boy found safe in Las Vegas

10:57 AM | January 10, 2009

A Riverside boy who was abducted while walking to school Friday has been found safe at a residence in northern Las Vegas, Riverside Police said today.

Eduardo Rivera, 7, was walking with three youngsters who lived in the same foster home with him when he was taken, police said, by two Latino men and a third male. They put him in a car and drove away. The car was later abandoned, police said, and Rivera was then driven in a gold Cadillac Escalade.

Police detectives, along with the FBI and the Inland Regional Apprehension Team, followed up leads and found the boy unharmed early Saturday. Police said several people at the home were being questioned about their possible involvement in the incident.

Both of Rivera’s parents are in jail on charges of fraud and identity theft. They also have immigration holds placed on them, meaning they may not be in the U.S. legally. Police questioned both parents Friday and developed leads into the boy’s whereabouts.

The child is expected to be returned to his Riverside foster home soon. The investigation is ongoing.

im glad the boy was safe. but theres been many cases where the child says he/she wants to return with the biological parents. and when the plan is pur forth and into action, things are switched around.....
why is a 7 year old walking home from school if he is in the foster care system the responsiblity is on the caregivers to take them to school and pick them up from school . there some questions right there.
all in all ,.thank god that the boy is safe...

I wonder if there is a connection between this kidnapping and the one a few months ago in Las Vegas. Certainly seems like a bit of a coinsidence, doesn't it? That one was drug related. Is this one?

Dah, I wonder if the parents who are in prison owe some Mexican or Drug Gang some money?

If we legalized drugs, I guarantee we could really put a door on the illegal drug business. It is killing both sides of the border, plus there would probably be a lot less illegal gun use happening , plus the police on both sides might be a little more legal in their own activities.

Dah.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! I WAS SO SADDENED BY HEARING OF THIS BOY'S ABDUCTION ON THE NEWS LAST NIGHT, I PRAYED FOR HIS SAFE RETURN WITH NO HURT OR HARM DONE TO HIM. I THANK GOD FOR HIM BEING FOUND UNHARMED.

There will be no amnesty.

I was just forced to take my first furlough day last week because the City claims it has no money. Now...it's okay for the City to foot the bill for a public memorial for Michael Jackson?
