'Latin sushi' arrives in downtown

January 6, 2009 |  8:17 am

Sushi

Add sushi with a Latin twist to the melting-pot menu of Los Angeles. The Daily Dish reports on a new restaurant in downtown Los Angeles that is a lot more Mexican than Japanese but feels like a sushi joint:

It hasn't celebrated its official grand opening yet, but Provecho, a new modern Mexican restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, is quietly serving chef Gabriel Morales' take on Latin sushi to Angelenos.

Beginning in early February, the restaurant's ceviche/raw bar will be fully operational and guests will be able to sit in a row and watch the chefs whip up creative ceviche combinations and small plates of Latin-flavored sashimi.
