Changes coming in how L.A. gets its mail

January 14, 2009 |  8:45 am

In this computer age, we are getting less regular mail. And the Long Beach Press-Telegram said this has prompted the U.S. Postal Service to rethink the routing of mail across Southern California. The result? Some could be getting new postal carriers:

Postal carriers might be immune to weather conditions when on their mission of delivering mail, but it's a different story when the economy goes sour.

The U.S. Postal Service announced recently that it will be adjusting delivery routes in Long Beach and throughout Southern California this month to align them with downsized workloads.

When adjustments are made, it's possible that some customers may have a different letter carrier, or mail delivery could be at a different time of day. Mail, however, will reach its destinations.
