At least one suspect has robbed the Washington Mutual bank at Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue this morning and half a dozen police cruisers and FBI agents have responded to the scene. Authorities were called to the bank about 10:40 a.m in response to the robbery, said Los Angeles Police Officer Ana Aguirre.
The suspect is believed to have fled the scene before officers arrived, she said. Employers and customers are being interviewed by investigators at the scene.

Wasn't this same location robbed just a month or two ago, shutting down the area? Is there a problem with their security? The WaMu on LaBrea requires you to walk through heavy security doors with a camera atop it, letting in only one person at a time. It feels very claustrophobic but if this branch is robbed twice in such a short time, they may need to do the same thing. That location is so busy, it allows a robber to flee in any direction and get lost in the crowd right next to the Grove/ Farmer's market -- I hope the Grove's private security is beefed up, too. Billionaire Caruso can afford to pitch in a little toward the general safety -- LAPD is already stretched too thin.

There is an astounding number of WaMu robberies lately.
First WaMu sharehlders get robbed by the FDIC in cooperation with JPM and now the thugs are clearing pennies from the tellers.
Save WaMu !
