Adult entertainment industry wants a bailout too
The recovery comes to the Valley! Well, in a way. I"m not sure how seriously to take the adult entertainment industry's request for a bailout from Congress. Details from TMZ:
Joe Francis and Larry Flynt claim the economy has made America's sexual appetite go limp, so they're going to the one place where sex is always rampant -- Congress. Flynt (the "Hustler" guy) and Francis (the "Girls Gone Wild" dude) are asking the government for a $5 billion bailout, claiming the adult entertainment industry has taken a huge shot to the face because of the downturn -- citing the fact that XXX DVD sales are down 22% from a year ago. "With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind," Flynt says. "It's time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America."
Mark Lacter's take: "Banks, automakers -- hell, why not pornographers?"

I think Larry Flynt should be bailed out. Whether we like it or not porn plays a important part in all our lives, not just in america , but here in india as well.
What will you do with money if you are going to be able to spend it ????

Absolutely ridiculous. Flint and Francis must be mentally ill.

I almost crashed the car when I heard this on NPR. This is fabulous! Everyone else is getting cash from the Bush regime, who are determined to drive this country as far into the ground as they can in the next few weeks. What a great publicity stunt!

NO WAY DO I WANT MY TAX DOLLARS TO GO TO THIS! A bailout to the porn industry is the LAST thing that would help our economy.

No Lindsay, YOU in the porn industry is the last thing that would help our economy.
Leave this to the pros, bail them out and lets use their fine product to get our minds off this horrible situation.
