Man charged with murder at New Year's Eve party

January 6, 2009 |  3:50 pm

A 34-year-old Los Angeles man was charged with murder today in connection with the fatal shooting of a New Year’s Eve reveler at a Studio City party, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Gilbert Llewelyn McDonald was scheduled for arraignment this afternoon in Van Nuys Superior Court, said Deputy Dist. Atty. William Ryder. Bail was recommended at $2 million.

Early on New Year’s Day, following a party attended by some 200 people, a dispute allegedly arose between the defendant and victim Felix Levern Lang. At one point, Lang ran out of the house and McDonald purportedly followed him, shooting him three times, prosecutors allege. Lang died at the scene.

Man this is depressing. Sounds cliche' but the good ones are the ones to go sometimes. Its really crazy, I was just thinking about Flex randomly before this happened. Flex was Quiet, confident, humerous and kept to himself. Why couldnt this guy just let it go and take the L like a damn man!! why cant men fight this out and live to fight another day? this murderer is a coward at best and even though we must forgive, I hope they never let him out of jail cus my dude is never coming back. HAMI for life yall..
