Woman held in Scott Ruffalo's death released

December 10, 2008 |  8:00 am

A woman held in connection with the fatal shooting of actor Mark Ruffalo's brother was released from the Beverly Hills jail late Tuesday, according to Los Angeles County Jail records.

Scott Ruffalo, 39, was pronounced dead Monday night at Cedars Sinai Medical Center after family members decided to take him off life-support. The hairstylist had been in critical condition since Dec. 1, when he was shot in the back of the head in his Beverly Hills apartment.

Hours before Ruffalo died, Shaha Mishaal Adham and Brian Scofield, who were wanted for questioning, turned themselves into authorities. Scofield, who Beverly Hills police officials said was wanted in connection with an outstanding traffic warrant, was cleared in connection with the crime after being questioned and released Tuesday, said department spokesman Lt. Tony Lee.

Adham had been held without bail at the Beverly Hills jail until her release Tuesday at 11:23 p.m.
