December 18, 2008 |  1:14 pm

A motorist was killed in Santa Clarita this morning after he drove over an embankment on the 14 Freeway and was ejected, authorities said.

The car crashed along the San Fernando Road onramp to the southbound freeway at about 5:50 a.m., said Officer Anthony Martin of the California Highway Patrol.

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was ejected from his car as it rolled over, said Inspector Ron Haralson of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Haralson said. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
