Gas prices holding steady in L.A., Orange counties

December 29, 2008 |  8:10 am

There may be little good economic news on the horizon, but at least gas prices are holding steady on average. Here's what CNS says:

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged today, a day after an increase of seven-tenths of a cent. The average price of $1.787 is 2.1 cents more than last week but 22.4 cents less than a month ago, $1.475 less than at this time last year and $2.839 less than the record high of $4.626 set on June 21, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The Orange County average price was also unchanged today, ending a streak of 11 days of increases where the average price rose 6.8 cents. The Orange County average of $1.775 is 2.3 cents more than last week but 20 cents less than a month ago, $1.449 less than at this time last year and $2.823 less than the record high of $4.598 set on June 19.
