L.A. Unified suspends arts program
An important arts program offered by the Los Angeles school district has been put on hold because of a serious budget shortfall. The Arts Community Parnertship Network has been in place for six years and had a budget of about $8 million this year. The 80 participating groups include the Music Center and the Center Theatre Group. More from The Times' Jason Song and Alicia Lozano on the cuts in arts education.
