A small fire broke out in the hills above Malibu but was quickly extinguished.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department estimated that the blaze burned about three acres.

No evacuations were ordered, and no structures were threatened.

The fire started west of Mulholland Highway near Pacific Coast Highway at the Los Angeles County-Ventura County border.
