A little drama in Rustic Canyon

November 23, 2008 | 10:15 pm

There was a bit of drama this afternoon in Rustic Canyon Park -- and it didn't involve the paparazzi chasing around the celebs who hike there. From City News Service:

A park ranger fell in Rustic Canyon today while looking for four hikers in distress and had to be hoisted to safety, a city fire official said. The distress call was received at 6:59 p.m. from Rustic Canyon Park, said Cecil Manresa of the Los Angeles Fire Department. "We located the hikers he was looking for and they were hoisted to safety as well,'' Manresa said. The ranger, who broke his ankle, was taken to a hospital, he said. The four hikers were uninjured and released at the scene.
