Man charged in attack on 'Stargate Atlantis' actor Jason Momoa
A 21-year old man who allegedly attacked and injured an actor from the television series “Stargate Atlantis” was charged today with assault with a deadly weapon.
The L.A. County district attorney’s office said Venice resident Dominic Bando argued with actor Jason Momoa on Nov. 15 at a cafe on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood. Bando allegedly struck Momoa in the face with a pint beer glass, which shattered in the actor’s face, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Victoria Pasternack. Momoa needed 140 stitches during reconstructive surgery.
Bando is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 10, and was released on $30,000 bail. He already was on probation for a March conviction for carrying a loaded firearm, the D.A.'s office said. Momoa, who also appeared in three seasons of “Baywatch,” plays character Ronon Dex on "Stargate Atlantis."

As was stated, some people just love to justify violence because that's what makes THEM feel tough and invincible. Whoever you are, Myjill... You did the right thing in calling this guys character into question. Love you for it!
And Jason....... I never knew about you before Atlantis. Baywatch was not my thing. But Stargate was enough to get me to totally love your character. Jack O'Neill did it for SG-1; YOU have done it for Atlantis. Get well soon.

My wife and I are ardent fans of "Star Gate Atlantis" and especially the character "Ronan" played by Jason Mamoa. We both wish Jason a speedy and full recovery from his injuries. Take care Jason and get well very soon.

Wow! This sucks. I remember an interview where he mentioned something about wanting to get away from the 'pretty boy' image. My prayers go out to him and his family, SGA and otherwise.

wots apenin j lad, dont worry about it i got scars scattered all over me eyebrows from different fights actually aquired new 1s over the weekend its never stopped me with the women. anyways hope it all heals and cums good in the end. your script writers are going to have to put a good ronin, wraith fight in for that 1, if yours are still shooting for the show. and congratulations on playing ya part excellently.

Oh yeah, I smashed him in the face with a glass in self defence your honor, er I left my knife at home today, how silly of me. Well he did verbally attack me I needed 200 stiches in my ego. Some people! they are just amazing how can you even try to justify that kind of behavior and call the people who are horrified by it morons. Theres no doubting the kind of person you are, Sicko's always try to justify the slashed victims, battered babys and women because your the perpertrator.

I hope this braindead moron isnt allowed any plea bargain and gets charged with attemted murder and rots in jail. The courts are way to soft on these people thats why it keeps happening. no his last name is momoa. I met him today and he has to wear sunglasses because his eyes are really sensetive to light and he had to keep wiping the pus that kept coming out. He's a great trooper though and still came to the con. we're all very thankful that he's doin alright. He said "Girls dig guys with scars right?" love him, he's a great sport.

Saw Jason today at the Burbank Stargate Convention. His face is badly scarred, across his nose, and from his left eyebrow through his eye socket to his left cheek bone. He almost lost his eye, and he's having serious issues with his tear ducts. He was a courageous guy and spoke on stage and really showed us his gusto by being there with us. We're thinking of you bro, and thanks for being a good sport all day!
