It's deer hunting season in the O.C.
Bargain hunting? Sure. House hunting? OK. But deer hunting in Orange County? You betcha. Far from the populous, mansionized, urbanized areas, Orange County boasts vast tracts of wild and undeveloped land. And although you're not likely to see the Real Housewives of Orange County pulling a Sarah Palin, plenty of hunters are headed for the hills. Details from the O.C. Register:
Bambi's mother better lookout, deer hunting season is underway. Actually, Bambi's father, as regulations do not allow the hunting of does.
The hunting season runs from Oct. 11 to Nov. 9, in the area known as D-15, which encompasses Orange County's portion of the Cleveland National Forest, according to the California Department of Fish and Game.
Hunters must have the proper license to hunt deer in the state, and there is a specified limit and procedure hunters must follow.
