Happening today: Freewaves New Media Art Festival

October 11, 2008 | 10:57 am

City Good morning, readers.

The Freewaves New Media Art Festival continues today as seven blocks of Hollywood Blvd. (between Sycamore and Wilcox) form ground zero for more than 100 film, video and installation exhibits.

Being Saturday and all, the festive-ness quotient should be heightened today -- the streets will be doused with dancers, performers, eco-friendly demos and events and music (Amoeba is sponsoring today's events on the theme "Visual Music"), and local galleries are offering walking tours on architecture and urban design.

Most of the events are free. Nice, right? See the full schedule of events here.
