New bus tour of downtown L.A. debuts today
Tourists will get a boost in downtown Los Angeles with a “new hop-on, hop-off” bus service that started this morning. But all that hopping will cost them.
Double-decker sight-seeing buses will travel between Olvera Street and the Staples Center each half hour. The route meanders past the Civic Center, Disney Hall, Broadway’s historic movie theaters, the Central Library and other sites, said City Councilman Tom LaBonge.
The service is offered by Starline Tours, and will be similar to sight-seeing routes operated in Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Tickets are good for 24 hours will run $30 per person or $90 for a family of five; two-day tickets are $40 per passenger or $125 for two adults and three children. They'll be good for both routes.
You can buy tickers at visitor information centers at 685 S. Figueroa St. in Los Angeles at 6801 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, according to Robin McClain of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Sounds like a nice scenic ride, but Dash will take you the same places sans commentary for a quarter instead of thirty bucks.
