Childbirth is no escape from restraint at L.A. County jails

Getprev_2 A new report on the medical treatment of female inmates at Los Angeles County jails said deputies say shackles are generally not used to restrain pregnant prisoners during childbirth. But as The Times' Richard Winton reports:

A county hospital delivery nurse said "leg chains, which are heavy but long enough to allow the inmate to get to the bathroom, are often present during childbirth," the report stated.

What? No special priveleges should be put for pregnat prisoners. The point of being in jail is to have the wrong doers to have there freedom taken away. You cant give them the imprestion that if there disabeled or pregnant they wont be treated the same as everyone else.
