Where'd that Joker come from, anyway?

If you're among the millions of movie fans who filled theaters this week and lifted "The Dark Knight," the newest entry in the Batman series, to record-breaking heights, chances are you came as much to see the Joker you did the tortured soul dressed in the bat suit. That said, here's a brief history of the Joker, one of the more complicated and compelling villains in the comic book lexicon.
