Police Commission says yes to new disciplinary review for LAPD
The L.A. Police Commission, which oversees the LAPD, voted unanimously to approve new discipline review procedures that deal with officers who use serious force during altercations, The Times' Joel Rubin reports:
The vote came after lengthy discussion in which the members questioned LAPD staff about the decision to do away with an automatic discipline review for an officer found to have acted out of policy. Several commissioners wanted assurances that the department would keep close tabs on the effects of the change and that it would remain possible for the commission's inspector general to track the outcome in cases in which the chief opts not to initiate a personnel complaint.
More to come in Joel's full story.

The President of the Police Commission: "John Mack" is the former President of the LA Urban Leage and is a long time police hater. Smart move Mayor Villa~Viagra in making such a person the President of the Police Commission... It's gotten to the point that Cops on the LAPD know that if they do their jobs the way cops in other police agencies are encouraged and expected to do (in a pro active manner), they are asking to be diciplined. Los Angeles has become not only a Sanctuary City, it's also a pro-criminal city thanks to the Mayor and his lacky Chief Bratton, who was fired by Gulianni as the Police Commissioner in New York and the entire LAPD hating Police Commission. Glad the area I live is policed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff !
