Happening tonight: Download Fest & Feist

July 20, 2008 |  2:30 pm

Good afternoon, readers.

The Guide offers a few auspicious suggestions for this evening's entertainment:

Did you love the '80s? At Universal CityWalk's Gibson Amphitheatre, two of our favorite '80s bands, the Jesus and Mary Chain along with the amazing and under-sung Gang of Four, headline Live Nation's two-stage Download Festival. The whole shebang (which includes newcomers Brand New, Mutemath, Yeasayer, M83 and the Duke Spirit) started at 1:30 p.m.

And at the Hollywood Bowl, Canadian pop songstress Feist performs at 7 p.m. She may be an "indie darling," but you've heard her voice and catchy ditties backing advertisements for Verizon and Apple iPods. Opening for her will be Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.

Don't miss all the other music listings here in The Guide.

Cheers!
