Happening: Oxnard Salsa Fest, Gnarls Barkley at the Bowl

And_now_for_a_cold_beer_2 Hello, readers.

If you love salsa -- in your music, on your corn chips, or in your dance moves -- you're in luck. The quiet oceanside town of Oxnard will sizzle today until 7 p.m. with live salsa music, dance demos with "local salsa pros" and tastings of various salsas -- from fruity to smoky to sweet and spicy. The annual Oxnard Salsa Festival also features a marketplace offering South American wares, jewelry, clothing and gourmet salsas to purchase.

Also tonight: Gnarls Barkley, the Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo psychedelic soul duo, will perform at the Hollywood Bowl, in what's sure to be an entertaining show. Crazy, even. 7 p.m. start. Tickets $10-96.

Check back tomorrow for the Times review .
