Seriously -- have you voted yet?
We're hearing that turnout is light, poll workers are bored, and the Founding Fathers are turning over in their graves. So please, go. Exercise your precious and hard-won right to vote, like Mark Ridley-Thomas did (photo on the right) and Bernard Parks (he's in the green shirt), both of them hoping to win Yvonne B. Burke's seat in the 2nd District on the Board of Supes. And if you need some help, our terrific voter's guide is here.

I made sure to get out and vote no on both 98 and 99. Bad propositions, both of them. (Note to people voting on propositions: If the think doesn't stick to a single subject, it's bad policy. Mixing eminent domain and rent control in one law makes no sense.) All told, I spent about 5 hours finding information about people running for office so I could vote for the offices. Even so, I feel my choices could've been better informed. Where's a website on which you can view a current judge's record? His/her statement of principles guiding decisions aside from the letter of the law? That's what we need.
