Attempted kidnapping, alleged sex with a minor, copper thieves caught, and jail time for gangsters -- it's trouble in paradise
A man trying to kidnap a 15-year-old girl in Canyon Country is arrested, firefighters who entered a blazing home in Altadena discovered the body of an elderly woman, a SigAlert did a number on the 57 Freeway near Covina Boulevard as police investigated an accident, inspectors found $520,000 worth of fake Nikes (listed as "drainage pipe fittings" on the manifest) at the Port of Long Beach, police in Irvine think they've nabbed some copper thieves, a Moorpark bus driver is being held on suspicion of having sex with a 14-year-old autistic boy, police in Riverside find video of a clerk selling alcohol to a man who later died in a wrong-way freeway crash, a pair of brothers are sentenced to 90 years for the gang slaying of a 15-year-old Downey boy, and did you feel that? A small earthquake near the Ortega Highway at 11 a.m.
--Veronique de Turenne

I resent the LA Times phrasing the molestation of an autistic 14 year old boy by an adult man as "having sex." Forcing someone to submit to or commit sexual acts is not "having sex" it is RAPE.
