Steve Lopez: Maria for governor?
In response to my Wednesday column about who might follow Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Sacramento (Jerry Brown? Steve Poizner? Meg Whitman? Antonio Villaraigosa? Gavin Newsom?), Bob Levine of Los Angeles offered an interesting alternative.
“Maria Shriver, having re-established her Democratic credentials at the pre-primary [Barack] Obama rally, will run for and win the 2010 Democratic gubernatorial nomination and then win the governorship hands down,” wrote Levine, a retired economic and policy analyst who says he once worked for Maria’s father, Sargent Shriver, in the War on Poverty office under President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Any backers out there?

Nobody would vote for Maria, and even less for that idiot Tony Villar, neither one would have a hope of becoming governor of this state.
Even Arnold couldn't get re-elected. He turned out to be everything he said he wasn't and nothing close to what he said he was

Oh, I fail to mention Gavin Newsome, LOL, LOL, he and Villar are total jokes. The people of this state would NEVER be so dumb or blind to elect either of these two idiots.

Arnold couldn't get re-elected?
You obviously don't know what you're talking about since Arnold was re-elected in 2006.
As for Maria, I'm not sure she has THAT political ambition. I personally believe that she loves politics, but doesn't want to become a politician.

Jerry Brown would be my first choice for governor, but say, hasn't he already served two terms???
As for Maria, not a bad choice really.

Nothing to do with the above; however, I think someone needs to speaking about all this JUNK we are receiving from China. When did we become a country that has no control or concern over what our kids play with and the goods we consume? A gentleman was fired at CNN for making such comments, but he was right. Well he could have kept it to the goods coming out of China versus calling the people/head of states fools. Nevertheless, they are sending us CRAP! I have to send over half the stuff I order, because of poor workmanship and CRAP. Unfortunately, I can't find anything made in the USA or for anywhere else for that sake. I hope the business community wakes up soon, as in the end they will be losing more money from us returning all this CRAP!
