California dreaming -- except it's actually true

2:07 PM, May 3, 2008

It's the California myth: Play in the snow in the mountains in the morning, hang by the surf at the coast in the afternoon. Our reporter, Tami Abdollah, goes one better and adds some hiking in between. That's right: Ski, hike and surf, all in a single day. Tami shows you how...

Yes, I agree it can be done, you can see it all in a day in CA. snow,hike,surf.. But, to actually enjoy each sport you have to make a day of each activity. Otherwise it's all just a big blur and not worth the time and effort.

Hate to burst your bubble, but this was a right to passage for the group I hung out with in the 70's. Surf Trestles, Hike Saddelback, Ski Snow Summit in the evening. If you could not do these three feats your were not considered part of the club.

Having seen the latest ads regarding tourism from another state, I'd love to be a fly on the wall at a business where people are calling for a management person who is either in a "board meeting" or "at Court".

Yes, I do the same thing, but I surf in the morning at Huntigton Beach 5:30 to 9am then, I go to Big Bear for snow board session and then relax in Big Bear.....
Yes, we have it, but sometimes finding the time is the problem...

Yes, it's all about time...

I disagree with the synopsis of this story,California with it's high tax everything and high cost of living ,it's becoming the tax you to death state ,from what I hear is people can't wait to move out of this state, their over it,the desire factor you claim is looooonnnggg gone, more and more people can't wait to leave this state, you seem to think in this article so desirable, but MAN are you wrong on ths one,California is now high undesirable place to live, people want to leave this high tax over priced place you think is so great,BIG TIME!
