Hollywood Ford could use a copy editer editor

May 13, 2008 | 10:28 am

Hollywood Ford can't spell

Not sure if Hollywood Ford is trying to persuade potential customers that it'll be easy to get a bargain because the dealership's not exactly bright, but whoever is printing their signs should probably step away from the machine and let a 5th-grader take over.

"When ever"? "Turck"? "Electricfying"?

Is 0% really the interest rate, or the likelihood that anyone proofread these signs on Hollywood Boulevard?

At least the sign didn't say "#1 Turk."

Hollywood Ford's copywriter is as awful as their service.

I bought a Ford Escape Hybrid there in March 2007 and paid $1,495
for their Premium Service Warranty. I have never brought the car in
for servicing or repair until yesterday. Both rear brake lights were out due
to some electrical or circuit problem.

I called in advance and spoke to the salesman who sold me the car,
Leo Hagen. He assured me that the service department was expecting
me at 2p.m. and that if they couldn't fix the problem on the spot, they would
provide me with a loner. I drove across town to Hollywood Ford and
when I showed up at the service department they were rude and
seemed to relish telling me that they had several cars ahead of me,
that I would have to leave the car and that they would not provide me
with a loner.

I spoke to the salesman who spoke to the owner, Andrew Hong.
Mr. Hong didn't have the courtesy to even talk to me, he just sent
out the salesman to tell me that they couldn't help me.

I tried to contact Andrew Hong repeatedly by phone but only ever
got his voicemail. Clearly Ford's Premium Service Warranty isn't worth
the paper it's printed on.

Considering how poorly the Big 3 are doing sales-wise, I would think
that Ford's sales and service departments would be bending over
backwards to keep their existing customers happy. No wonder Ford
sales are down and that those people who ARE buying, are buying
foreign cars.

I urge any prospective car buyers to avoid Hollywood Ford like the plague.

A very dissatisfied customer.
