Do this now: Santa Monica Festival

May 10, 2008 |  2:15 pm

Hello, readers. The 17th annual Santa Monica Festival is hopping today, stocked with eco-friendly shopping, yummy organic food and fun for the whole family. (Remember: Tomorrow is Mother's Day.) Plus, one of our very fave local bands, Dengue Fever, is headlining. Arty and exotic, they mix Cambodian pop and psychedelia. And lead singer Chhom Nimol is amazing to hear. But they do rock.

Also on the agenda is a Fashion Newspaper Workshop, where participants will create couture out of recycled newspapers. Gives new meaning to what's "fit to print."
