Say it ain't so: 23 ficus trees along 2nd and 3rd Streets in Santa Monica get the ax (well, the chain saw) on one the hottest days of the year. No word yet on when replacement trees will go in. Get the full scoop (and lots of pix) from Curbed LA and LAT
