Waters endorses Parks for supervisor

April 18, 2008 |  5:33 pm

Congresswoman Maxine Waters today endorsed L.A. Councilman Bernard C. Parks in the race for a seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. The endorsement is not a complete surprise, but it is certainly a plus for Parks as he battles state Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas to replace retiring Supervisor Yvonne Burke.

Waters is among the most influential and prominent African American leaders in California and having her on board will help Parks counter the labor groups and the county Democratic party backing Thomas. Waters is scheduled to formally announce the endorsement Saturday afternoon.

As a community leader in Watts/ South Los Angeles I support and endorse Councilmember Bernard C.Parks for Supervisor of the 2nd District of the County of Los Angeles.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters is as out of touch with the 2nd District as Parks is wit the 8 CD. Let me give you some news Congresswoman Maxine Waters there area now Progressive Democratic, working class African-Americans and Latinos living here. Maybe you should stop you personal attacks, retire and let true community advocates represent us in government.
