This just in: Large industrial fires burns in South L.A. *

Fire_2 The fire broke out about 2 p.m. and has spread rapidly through a factory that makes wooden pallets, sending thick plumes of black smoke that are visible across the L.A. Basin, reports KCAL-TV.  The blaze swept through a large yard containing stacks of pallets and has now engulfed some nearby buildings and is threatening power lines.

The city of Los Angeles Fire Department said the fire is located at 6236 Gramercy Place near the intersection of Slauson and Western Avenues.

Update: There were no reports of injuries as of 3:15 p.m. reports from Francisco Vara-Orta.
