This just in: Bomb threat temporarily closes freeway interchange

April 17, 2008 |  2:53 pm

Update: All lanes have reopened as of about 3 pm.

The interchange of the 605 and 5 freeways near Downey has been shut down this afternoon as officials check a possible bomb threat. Traffic is jammed in the surrounding area and there is no word when the interchange might reopen. The Times' Francisco Vara-Orta is gathering more details.
