Carson City Council smacker reaches settlement

April 17, 2008 |  5:13 pm

The star of the "Carson City Council Smack" is apparently not going to appear in any jailhouse videos.  Vera Robles DeWitt, a former mayor and a longtime activist,  reached a court settlement today to avoid criminal prosecution and possibly a six-month jail sentence for smacking the head of a city commissioner in council chambers last year.

The incident was caught on video and posted on YouTube, where it was been viewed more than half a million times and generated hundreds of comments. John Mitchell is working on the full story.

Meanwhile, catch the smack one more time:

The only person that deserves to be punished is the receipient of that "slap" for the worst acting job in histoty!

seriously if she is "faking it" can she be brought up on perjury charges or something like that, and the counsilman that had her inprisoned can't he be brought up on false imprisonment.
