Yes, there's a bird called a tit but...

No tits or mice in Titmouse_park

Let's get this out of the way right now -- there is, indeed, a family of small birds called tits. Blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, you get the idea. Lots of fodder for tit jokes (the bird kind). Go to it.

But what bugs Roy van de Hoek about Titmouse Park, a tiny slice of land in Playa del Rey, is that the sign, placed 20 years ago, refers to a bird that's not a native of the Ballona Wetlands. Add in the fact some people say the park was named to tweak local women activists (who could return the favor with a name change of their own), and you've got the makings of a classic Bob Pool story.
