Do this today: a perfect storm
Good morning, readers!
Some of us can't be sweating it out in the Coachella Valley this weekend watching "le rock 'n' roll hot." Boo. Back when the Coachella Music Festival started in the late '90's, there were only a few brave bands of reputation on the lineup. These days, of course, it's mega. I'll be watching the fest on the Soundboard blog, which is being updated seemingly by the minute, with plenty of visuals. Plus, we've got a veritable army of reporters down there -- so the multiple stages are covered.
Shows start again today at 2. Portishead, Rilo Kiley, Death Cab for Cutie. Kraftwerk, for goodness sake. See the whole lineup here.
The major issue is that the Purple One, Prince, is playing tonight, so be sure to check in later for snaps from the sure-to-be insanely righteous show. Prince will not be ignored.
There is really a perfect storm of stuff to do this weekend, though, if you're in town as we are. Fiesta Broadway downtown, and of course our own L.A. Times Festival of Books at UCLA. And so much more that you can read about on The Guide. We'll be watching it all on the blogs.
