Explosion kills L.A. firefighter in Westchester *
Los Angeles firefighter Brent A Lovrien, 35, was killed, and his colleague, Anthony J. Guzman, 48, was seriously injured this afternoon after they were apparently hit by exploding manhole covers while responding to a call in Westchester, a department spokesman said.

I have known Brent Lovrien for his life time, he was a wonderful boy and an even greater man, his passing leaves my Family, Myself and my children Robert and Glena Hartsell devastated,,I know Brent died a Hero and Im not surprised in the least,,,I wish Patricia and Shenan all the love and strength to get threw what is needed to be done for Brent, I can only say that he will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him. the world is a grayer place without Brent..My sincere condolenses to Patricia Ann and Shenan and all of his cousins and Aunt Dorothy and the remainder of the Lovrien,

My Name is Jason Bernal....I was Brent's new nieghbor....my sincere condolances go out to his family. I work for a local restraunt....I would like to donate some food for the family. I know how hard it is to cook or prepare food for the numerous people that come. The last thing you need to worry about is feeding people. So what ever I can do to help please let me know.....

My heart goes out to Mr. Lovrien's family. I used to work at the Westchester Y and knew several of the firefighters from the nearby station. The men and women who die in the line of duty like this are truly heroes.

Firefighter's name is Brent Lovrien. He was my cousin. This is such a tragic accident.
Even as a kid, ever since I can remember, all he ever wanted was to be a fireman.
I still cannot believe it.
