Arrest made in L.A. bus stop shootings

7:53 PM | February 28, 2008

Police arrested a member of the 48th Street Crips tonight in connection with Wednesday's shooting at a South Los Angeles bus stop. Three adults and five children were wounded in the attack.

The motive? Trying to boost his reputation as an enforcer, LAPD officers say. Ari B. Bloomekatz and Paloma Esquivel have the full story.

A pretty awful crime. There was a case like it a few years ago in New York, where someone fired into a crowd at a nightclub, hoping he'd hit an opposing gang member.

If this guy was Iraqi, they'd be blaming his religion.

This is a prime example of what the LAPD can accomplish in ridding the streets of these predators. It takes the community to step up and cooperate and ID these gang members. Good job Newton Street and good job to all involved.

Well California, seeing as you're the Poster Child for the Brady Campaign To Prevent Gun Violence hoe something like this could possibly happen? I'll bet the gun was purchased at a gun show, huh? Oh, congrats to the LAPD for arresting a suspect. Too bad it wasn't 8 victims earlier!

Good work, LAPD! This is the kind of response we would like to see in all cases where punks shoot at the innocents. I'm glad the community came forward and helped resolve this so quickly. I hope the little good for nothing sits in jail for a long, long time.
Again, kudos to the LAPD for their expedient resolution in apprehending the perp!! C'mon community, don't you want to see more of these punks locked away? I know I feel safer with his dumb behind off the streets!

Shameful. Banning and censoring is far more fascist than Wagner's single note (the man was dead before Hitler was born).
