Hot Property: Jewel sells for slightly more than her 2003 purchase price
Singer-songwriter Jewel Kilcher and her husband, rodeo champ Ty Murray, have sold their Hollywood Hills house for $1.4 million. The house had been purchased in 2003 for $1,325,000.
The Spanish-style home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,781 square feet with canyon and city views. A third bedroom in the restored 1938 home had been converted to a master closet. Kilcher and Murray make their home on a ranch in Stephenville, Texas.
The 90069 ZIP Code had 20 single-family home sales in the first quarter at a median price of $2.1 million, down 1.1% in price from the first quarter of 2008, according to MDA DataQuick.

Lauren, thanks for using the purchase price/sale price comparisons in your two recent celeb posts. That's the information/comparison that makes the most sense.

Lauren,
You're killin' me. I think Zell has been visiting your office:
'Lauren, quit blogging about the reality of LA real estate markets. Keep posting about fantasy expensive homes your blog readers would never be able to afford. As media, we need to put a positive spin to keep these markets artificially high.'

Jewel and Ty.... as they say in Texas.
you're "Gettin' while the gettin's good!"
90069 comps just took a hard one
to the gut. Many more to come.
2003 prices, today. 2000 prices,
tomorrow. The canyon creeps down.
God bless, the canyon creeps.
