Text: The Senate bailout bill, all 451 pages

October 1, 2008 | 10:46 am

Here it is, back by unpopular demand: the 451-page Senate bailout bill, the one Sen. John McCain wants to call a "rescue."

The Senate votes tonight, I'll use the blog to keep a running update of the day's events.

I DO NOT BELIEVE in a bailout for corporations at all. These men and women of these companies are suppose to be the TITANS of the industry. They knew there was a problem but BIG GOVERNMENT painted us a rosey picture. Bush even said there was no RECESSION BUT ONLY AN ECONOMIC SLOW DOWN.

And the FDIC raising the limits of federally insured deposits? I do not know about the rest of you out there but I do not even have that kind of money on hand since it is INVESTED inTHE MARKETS! WHICH CAME CRASHING DOWN! But I still am not in favor of any type bailout. Let the chips fall where they might!

I truely think that these TITANS (CEO's) should have all monies and assets taken away from them and let them endure some of the hardships your typical American family has to deal with. You would have to deaL WITH SOME OF THE politicains AS WELL.

A bailout is not the answer and TO: KenDoMore cleaning up this mess is not meaning to print or borow more money that you DO NOT HAVE! And this Government does NOT HAVE THE MONEY! They want a bailout to free up MORE CREDIT.. ISN"T THAT WHAT GOT THEM IN THIS f 'n MESS? Why not just dig the hole a little larger.

And I do not like the idea of this government getting their hands on more of our corporations---larger BIG BROTHER!

I spent a good part of the morning this past Monday calling Washington myself to express my views. Also sent e-mails
