A surprisingly tough neighborhood
Came across this scene on a Palos Verdes Estates street on Saturday and it got me wondering what people were so angry about in that neck of the woods. Slipping housing prices sprung to mind, but the September median sales prices for 90274 from DMA DataQuick belie that -- at least on the surface.
Here's how some of L.A. County's pricier ZIP Codes with 10 or more existing single-family home sales last month fared compared with September 2007.

Nahhh, it's just one miscreant who can't bear the thought of a "socialist terrorist Muslim without a birth certificate" becoming President.
Disclosure: I've already voted for the "socialist terrorist Muslim."

I know the complaint about using the median price, but the use of the mean, i.e. of the avearge, is not much better either.
I mean, if you put a neo-con and a socialist terrorist together, they average out to be pretty average, pretty bland, wouldn't you say?

If anybody doubts that Obama is going to raise taxes to pay for the entitlements Democrats have waiting in the wings to buy more votes over the next 8 years, they are naive. Worse still, anybody who believes that a Democratic government will act any differently than a Republican is definitely blind to the realities of "Big Business".
Folks, 99% of governmental policies help big business. Clinton and Greenspan was behind the interest rate free fall and encouraged the use of derivatives to grow our economy - the same derivatives that Warren Buffet decried as "weapons of mass destruction".

How many times a day do I read "analysis" that points out the flaws of a person, a party or ideas? It seems countless. Listen, pointing out a few flaws does not make your argument solid. You have to make relative judgments based on available alternatives. Yes, the Democrats have made many, many mistakes and are clearly beholden to special interests. To me, the question is whether their special interests are less scary than the special interests on the side of the Republicans. Do you honestly believe that because Clinton/Rubin made some serious mistakes on financial regulation that the Presidency and Treasury in the last eight years wasn't worse with respect to containing the excesses of "Big Business" and corporate plutocracy? Really? You believe that? You have solid facts to support this view?

Are you paying attention to yourself? You site a billionaire business investor to make your case?
By the way your lack of grasp of tense hurts your credibility.

As a former Northtown girl, I would say the folks at 90803 discovered they have been lied to. As in "there is no life above 2nd St" and "this $1M mansion features 1100 sq. ft.".
