Rep. Richardson: "It ain't been easy"
Those of you waiting to hear from U.S. Rep. Laura Richardson about her various defaults and unpaid bills will have to make do with this, a short video in which she thanks her supporters for electing her to Congress last year.
Highlights, to my untrained ear:
-- "I just want to say that I know it ain't been easy, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get it done." (Applause)
-- "Above all, you keep your word, until the end."
Relatedly, my colleague Steve Lopez has picked up the thread on this story. Maybe he'll have better luck than yours truly getting a call returned by Richardson's office, him being practically a movie star and all.

What does she mean " keep her word, and get it done"
Getting elected so she can get as many fraudulent loans for her constituents( and herself) as she could and try to pass a bill in congress so these people could stay in their homes ???
The moral hazard here is beyond limit. Buying a home will end up meaning nothing at all...This woman will have to sit down and answer a lot of questions......And a lot of people like her in our congress......

Notice she also says: "I don't care what I have to do to do that." Is the picture getting a little clearer. She's telling her constituents (the few that actually voted for her) that she'll do anything for them. She's brought a little pork home since then, but take a good hard look at this person, please.
Constituents, she's using you. Unions, she's already used you. The problem with rallying around someone extremely ambitious, opportunistic, aggressive, and machiavellian is that when she's done with you, you're left in worse shape than before. 37th District, don't let this happen.
Don't we have any lawmakers or enlightened citizens with enough testicular fortitude to go up against this machine? How do we get the investigation rolling??? No instant gratification here, or sheckels to line your pockets, but it's healthy, like a high fiber diet.
Meanwhile, back in real estate land -- how many houses, mortgages, and defaults does she have? Has anyone looked into what she owns nationwide? Does anyone know why the Daniel Richardson listed on title on the foreclosed Sacramento house isn't recorded as having received an NOD. (Keep in mind that the recent lawsuit against LR was also directed against the County Register/Recorder's office where improprieties were alleged to have taken place.) I guess if you can buy the DMV clerks for pennies, it's not a leap to think you can do the same thing at the county offices.

"It ain't been easy"
Careful Pete, or you'll get a strongly worded comment from the harridan of Highland Park.

LOL. When she mentioned her "3 commitments," I thought she was referring to her three loans. We all know how well she honors her commitments - give me a break. She should tell us her story as to why she did not pay her mortgages.

Get this horrible lady out of office! She should be put in jail for fraud.

As I logged on this morning I was pleased to find this story had made the "front page" on line. Congratulations Peter! It's good to see at least some portion of the "system" is still working. I guess we'll find out tuesday If Laura Richardson has constituents other than Milla who actually read the "Times". Seeing this no-load third tier scam artist voted out of office would do much to restore my faith in the California electorate. Seeing her prosecuted and convicted for fraud & tax evasion would make my day.

"fiver: notice how pete didn't put words in her mouth. only you did."
Agreed. I wrote:
"Hello, Countrywide? This is Rep. Laura Richardson, D-Long Beach, and I'd like to discuss a loan modification. I'm sure we can work out some mutually agreeable terms"
Obviously she would never say such a thing.

Check her out on YouTube. We really don't have to worry about her future if she manages somehow not to get re-elected.
Here is letter I wrote to one of our local reps on the house ethics committee. It could be better written. Please write the other members, as well as anyone else who should be tasked with the investigations. Other members can be found here:
http://ethics.house.gov/About/Default.aspx?Section=5
Follow the links to the place where you can email the representatives. (letters probably wouldn't get there in time).
__________________________
Dear Rep. Roybal-Allard,
Please note that I am using an assumed name and have asked a friend to submit this letter, out of fear from retribution.
One hopes that the "Laura Richardson Story" has already come to the attention of the ethics committee. We will submit this letter to other members on the committee and to the press as well, who have been doing a halfhearted job of exposing many questionable and potentially fraudulent activities:
1. Personal financial mismanagement with regard to mortgages and housing
2. Extreme lack of communication on these issues, and stonewalling
3. Disdain for those who question these activities
4. Possible lies and coverups
5. Equivocation and ommissions
6. Possible kick backs and special treatment in regard to homes and mortgages
7. Possible mortgage fraud on multiple properties as evidence by continued activity and approvals by lender(s) after she proved herself unable to maintain one mortgage, let alone multiple mortgages.
8. Possible collusion by mortgage lenders and real estate businesses
9. Possible criminal manipulation of property taxes
10. Possible manipulation of county recorder/registrar's office for political advantage in campaigns
11. Possible campaign fraud - thrown out in Los Angeles courts for technical reasons.
Please initiate an immediate, thorough, and deep investigation of these allegations before the June 3 primary. Failure to do so, or to announce said intentions would result in grave disappointment in our government's ability to govern itself. Please cooperate with other entities investigating these issues.
