Now pitching against the bailout: Jim Bunning

Iyhs97ncA programming note: Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky will appear on cable TV tomorrow (Thursday) to explain his opposition to the Senate's housing bill, which he has called "unusually bad." The senator's office reports he will be a guest on CNBC's "Squawk Box" at 8:15 a.m. Eastern (5:15 a.m. local) and on CNN's "Issue #1" at noon Eastern, 9 a.m. local time.

Bunning does not strike me as a reader of blogs, but he is listening to somebody: "It turns out that the American people don’t like the idea of bailing out banks and their neighbors who gambled on home prices," he said this week. "The voters understand what is going on in Washington, better than we do."

I look forward to a full report on the senator's Squawk Box appearance in the comment section from one of you early risers.

Does this matter? When does our govt ever listen to the people that put them in charge any longer? Main reason why approval ratings are so low. For instance, I read a disheartening article in the Times the other day about a family trying to get police to check the immigration status of gang members indicted for hideous crimes. When did this EVER become something our citizens need to even persuade our govt to act on??? Serious, what the heck is with that?!?!?

NO ONE should be bailed out for this mess, especially here in So Cal. But I will say this: Better to spend $300B on a bailout here than $200B in Iraq. Or countless billions we give countries like Egypt and Pakistan that harbor terrorists that want to destroy us.

He sounds like a sensible fellow, and he's saying a lot of stuff that's been said on these Bubble Blogs for the past couple of years, even the stuff in regard to Greenspan.

Frustrating doesn't even begin to cover it. Why wasn't anybody listening? This is all common sense!

Here are Bunning's major contributors:

#18 is the NAR!

Appropriately enough, this former major leaguer appears to actually have some balls.

I agree with bunning. Washington is completley out of touch on this issue.
