Whether you're celebrating Easter or the equinox, it's a time of re-birth and renewal. With t he spring comes the gift of fresh growth and the healing of winter's scars. Let's allow this to be exactly that, a time of healing and renewal for all of us.
Pagan influences other than rabbits and eggs? Per Uncle Wiki, "The modern English term Easter developed from the Old English word Eastre, which itself developed prior to AD 899. The name refers to the Eostur-monath, a month of the Germanic calendar which may have been named for the goddess Eastre in Germanic paganism."
The town was beautiful today, honeysuckles in bloom , that intense perfume, it makes one swoon. It's blooming everywhere....That is one thing we have here, mother nature doing her thing ,Spring time in CA, load up the car and drive in the sun.....Ok maybe I'll stay a while longer.....
The saddest thing about the housing crisis is how it's pitted neighbor against neighbor, making many seethe with anger at other people who they perceive as having been given an unfair advantage, while others perceive themselves as having pursued the normal dream of owning a home and being sucked into a nightmarish scam. The result is that vast numbers of people live in fear, sadness or anger within their own homes rather than feeling the joy of normal living. The mass negative energy from this crisis is hurting national morale. How many Easters will come and go before people can go home each night and enjoy what they have rather than being stressed by it? We need to be back to that place where you can stand in your kitchen with its formica countertop and linoleum floor and slightly old-fashioned cabinets and feel good about how lucky you really are...
And if I could say to the families sacrificing for this war, and all Americans who suffer and are fearful: This to shall past. God is still God and God's promise to humanity is as real today as it ever was.
