Live Talks Los Angeles, the newest gold-star reading series to hit town, has announced its fall schedule. Sports, entertainment and spiritualism are on the bill.

Tickets go on sale Friday for Jane Lynch, who will be talking about her frank and funny memoir ‘Happy Accidents’ on Oct. 2. From the book: ‘If I could go back in time and talk to my twenty-year-old self, the first thing I would say is: ‘Lose the perm.’ Secondly I would say: ‘Relax. Really. Just relax. Don’t sweat it...Be easy on your sweet self. And don’t drink Miller Lite tall boys in the morning.’ Lynch will be in conversation with actor Adam Scott; the two starred together in ‘Party Down’ before Lynch became famous for ‘Glee.’

Some tickets at Live Talks LA cost as much as $125, but that’s because proceeds go to charity. The highest-priced tickets include an advance reception and a signed copy of the book, and tickets are also available in a package that includes the event and book as well as for the event alone, which cost around $20.

On Oct. 11, Deepak Chopra and scientist Leonard Mlodinow will debate spirituality and science in person as they do in the co-authored book, ‘War of the Worldviews: Science vs. Spirituality.’

Lakers coach Jerry West, whose forthcoming memoir is ‘West by West: My Charmed, Tormented Life’ will be at Live Talks LA on Oct. 18, interviewed by Peter Guber.

New Yorker writer Adam Gopnik will be talking about food and family, NPR’s Steve Inskeep will discuss Pakistan, and Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson will talk about shifting gears from writing for grown-ups to writing for young adults. There are also appearances by John Lithgow, Daryl Hammond and Hal Holbrook, who will be speaking with actor Robert Patrick (expect talk of Mark Twain).

Harry Belafonte will close the fall on Nov. 28. His memoir is ‘My Song.’
